Files: where they live, how to add them

Lotzy doesn’t lock your files away: everything sits in folders on your computer, ready to open in any app.

    The save folder

    Open folder at the bottom left opens the project’s folder, Choose save folder changes where projects are saved. New installs use C:\Lotzy on Windows and ~/Lotzy on a Mac.

    Add media

    Drag images or videos from your computer onto the canvas, or use Add media. By default a copy is saved in the project folder.

    Add without copying

    Turn on Settings → Files → Add files without copying and files stay where they are; the canvas shows them from there. Such cards have a blue link mark, and removing them from the canvas never deletes the original.

    Drag into Premiere

    Grab the film icon in a card’s title and drag the file straight onto Premiere’s timeline or into a folder.
